A Power Sprint is where participants gather for a focused, facilitated one-hour work session while working on their own individual projects.
The rules are:
-
Arrive at the table with the project that you want to work on.
-
Be ready with your hydration and hit the bathroom before we start.
-
No talking during the sprint.
-
We start by going around the table and giving a summary of what we want to accomplish in the hour. The session ends with a recap from each person.
-
Sally will play some “productivity music” to set the tone. Bring ear buds or headphones if you have your own tunes.
The Power Sprint offers numerous benefits, including:
1. Heightened Focus: The dedicated, time-bound nature of a Power Sprint creates a sense of urgency, which encourages participants to focus on their task and eliminate distractions, leading to higher productivity.
2. Accountability: Knowing that others are working around them fosters a sense of accountability. Even though everyone is working on different tasks, the group dynamic pushes participants to stay on task. And we recap at the end. Have fun sharing everything that you accomplished!
3. Collective Energy: Being surrounded by others who are equally focused creates a motivating and energizing environment. This collective energy helps maintain momentum and inspires more productive work. Energy is truly contagious!
4. Reduced Procrastination: The time-limited format of the session leaves little room for delay, helping participants to dive into tasks that they may have been putting off. On days when it is possible, we will add on another hour. We will let you know in advance so you can build your to-do list.
5. Break from Isolation: For individuals who typically work alone, this kind of session offers a chance to engage with others, breaking the isolation without losing focus on their own priorities.
